SureSync Software - v6 New Features
SureSync 6.0 introudces a new replication engine and
many enhancements to ensure replication and synchronisation of
files is fast and efficient.
- Parallel Processing / Multi-Threading:
multiple worker threads allow SureSync to copy multiple files and
perform directory scans simultaneously. Built-in intelligence
within SureSync optimises the number of threads used based on
processor capacity. - Our internal testing shows up to 35%
performance improvement.
- SyncStatus Enhancements: dashboard view with
file queue, delta savings, and more! A new detailed status panel to
show you file level actions for each job.
- File Resumes: allows file copying to continue
where it left off after connection failures - for FTP & regular
transfers.
- Enhanced Consolidated Installer: all SureSync
components are handled through one installer which greatly
simplifies the download and installation process.
- Centralised Deployment for SPI Applications:
simplify deployment of SPIAgent and other SPI applications to
remote machines.
- Direct SPIAgent-to-SPIAgent Transfers:
eliminate data transfers to the controlling SureSync machine.
- Change Journal Support for Schedules: utilise
the SPIAgent in connection with scheduled jobs and eliminate the
need to constantly rescan folders at each schedule launch.
- File Locking Enhancements: enhancments include
a "hold lock list" for each agent involved to track locks during
path drops and locks are held until synchronisation has
completed.
- 64-bit Support for File Locking: SureSync's
File Locking Add-on is now 64-bit compatible.
- Enhanced FTP Support: support for secure FTP
(SFTP), file resumes supported on FTP paths, and ability to
maintain date stamps on modern FTP servers.
- Job Log Enhancements: improved filtering and
use of virtual pages, allowing users to display logs of any size
without receiving the "log too large to display" error.
- Preview Enhancement - Trial Run: SureSync 6
introduces a new preview mode called Trial Run. When you perform a
Trial Run, a text file with an extension of .SPI_Preview will be
generated which shows all of the actions that the job would take if
you actually ran it.
- Command Line - Stop & Start All Jobs:
SyncCmd has been enhanced to be able to stop (/XStopAll) or start
(/XStartAll) all active jobs in the SureSync database. This is
useful when applying a new version or patches to an existing
version.
- VSS Management Service: includes a powerful
new VSS management service which provides full support for Advanced
Open File Support for all supported operating systems including
64-bit machines and Windows XP. Advanced Open File Support is now
provided free of charge for all supported operating systems.
