SureSync Licensing - Mixed Server and Workstation Licensing
SureSync can be configured to
run on Windows Server and PC Operating Systems. SureSync's
licensing is dependent on the type of Operating System you'll be
replicating & synchronising files between.
If you plan on replicating files
between both servers and PC's, your licensing will also be
dependent on where you install the software.
Server Installation
With SureSync installed on a server, you have the benefit of
having one central machine to manage replication between your
replication & synchronisation tasks between the server and your
PC's.
Server-to-PC's: In the Server-to-PC's Example,
with SureSync installed on the Server OS, the minimum required
licensing to replicate files to and from PC's 1, 2, & 3 would
be 1 SureSync Server License. A single SureSync Server License is
able to copy files to and from any number of PC's.

Please Note: If you needed functionality from
the SPIAgent Add-on, you would need a SPIAgent License for each
machine involved in replication tasks.

Workstation Installation
When SureSync is installed on the PC, the licensing requirements
are slightly different. SureSync's Workstation License requires
that each PC (i.e. Windows 7, Vista or Windows XP) where SureSync
is installed be licensed and must be a source or destination for
each replication task.
PC-to-Server: In the PC-to-Server Example,
where SureSync is installed on PC 1, the minimum requirement for
licensing is 1 SureSync Workstation License. This will allow you to
copy files from PC 1 to/from Server 1 and to/from Server 2. To copy
files between Server 1 and Server 2, you will need SureSync Server
Licenses.

Please Note: If your project requires
functionality from the SPIAgent Add-on, you would need a SPIAgent
License for each machine involved in replication tasks. In the
PC-to-Server Example, the requirement would be 1 SPIAgent
Workstation and 2 SPIAgent Server Licenses.
