Encrypted containers for
email attachments
Use Zed! encrypted containers for secure exchange of email files
with your colleagues and external partners. These containers can be
compared to a "diplomatic bag" containing information that only
their recipients are authorised to read. Sensitive files can be
protected in these containers. They can be archived or sent by
email.

Zed! is a very easy-to-use product designed for creating e
for archiving or exchange with correspondents.
An infrastructure product
Zed! is a genuine enterprise product that can be
used company-wide in line with a centralised Security Policy. Its
deployment is facilitated by the use of remote installation tools.
It can be administered via
GPOs.
User-friendly and intuitive
The use of the encrypted containers is very
intuitive. The style and feel of these "pseudo-folders" make them
very similar to the native compressed (.zip) files of Windows
XP.
The user can create a container with
just a click, to which files and accesses can be added.
The .zed is ready to be sent and the files are
encrypted.
File compression
Zed! technology includes a compression
algorithm that allows the total size of the encrypted container to
be reduced, so facilitating archiving and limiting the size of
emails.
For file exchange or archiving
The .zed file allows confidential
data to be exchanged by email with ease. The
recipient can then send a reply by modifying the content of the
.zed, so ensuring that confidentiality is maintained. The user can
also supply a contact with the container on a variety of media,
such as a USB memory stick. Archiving is another possible use of
encrypted
containers.
Different access key formats
Zed! uses keys, either in
the form of passwords agreed with a correspondent
or in the form of RSA certificates (certificate
files or accessible from an LDAP directory). There can be mixed
type accesses in the same container. The administrator may impose a
recovery access in all .zed's
created.
Freeware for your correspondents
In order to allow
users to exchange Zed! encrypted containers with contacts who do
not have Zed!, Prim'X Technologies offers its clients a
free version called "Zed! Limited
Edition".
This version allows
encrypted containers to be read and have their content modified
with other files for the
reply.
Only the
full version of Zed! can be used for creating new containers.
It is therefore the initial sender who establishes access
authorisation to the
containers.
