iBac 5.0 for Windows

was developed to speed up and simplify the process of backing up and recovering critical data. iBac is a disk to disk backup software that combines native format backup, drag and drop restore, file level de-duplication and consistent point in time backups of Windows databases into one easy to use software package. Its scalability, performance, and reliability make it an ideal backup solution for every type of business from SMB's to the most demanding enterprise environments.

The iBac Difference

Imagine if each day you could parse every file in the enterprise and only back up the data that had changed since the previous backup with the end result still being a full backup of all your data. This would save enormous amounts of time compared to the traditional backup method that involves backing up entire files, databases and objects each time a backup is run regardless of whether they had changed. iBac 5.0 for Windows introduces a new medium for data protection and retention that logically addresses the process of backing up mission critical data.

How does iBac Work?

iBac leverages the random access nature of disk to create a high speed copy of your data. iBac can determine if any changes to a file have occurred since it was last backed up to a specific media - such as a removable SATA disk or disk array. If modifications are detected, only the changed files or portions of a file are backed up. Unlike most backup software, iBac gives you the option to merge those changes into the last backup giving you a full backup or you can use data de-duplication to store the changed data in a separate folder with pointers/links back to the original full backup. The end result will be a full backup, however, only the space of the changed data will be taken up on your disk target.

iBac 5.0 is licensed per server. The base backup license, iBac Single Server, includes the ability to backup any Windows 32 bit or 64 bit server and includes our data de-duplication solution - iBac BVM. In addition, Open Volume Snapshot (OVS) is available to backup live databases such as Microsoft SQL and Exchange.

iBac 5.0 is designed to:

  • Create a simple point in time backup of servers, databases and workstations.
  • Backup data using file level de-duplication. ibac diagram
  • Backup active databases while maintaining their relational integrity.iBac's scalability, performance and reliability make it an ideal backup solution for any sized business.
  • Send only changed data across the LAN or WAN allowing you to affectively manage available bandwidth and resources.

iBac's scalability, performance and reliability make it an ideal backup solution for any sized business.
