ELM - New Version 6.5 Just Released !
New Version 6.5 - Just Released!
We are pleased to announce that ELM Enterprise Manager version
6.5 is now available! This exciting new release is packed with new
features and ease of use enhancements that will benefit System
Administrators and IT Managers in companies of all sizes.
For over 14 years TNT Software has been providing software to
centralise the monitoring of system health, status, and event log
activity. Collected data is dynamically displayed with
advanced filtering capabilities, real-time notifications, and
numerous, flexible reporting options.

Key Features of the New ELM Enterprise Manager 6.5
include:
New Database
Design
By introducing a new star schema database design, as well as
features found in Microsoft SQL Server 2008, ELM 6.5 reduces the
amount of storage space required for event data by as much as
50%!
New
Licenses
New licenses introduced in ELM 6.5 include the Core license and
Network license. The event logs, perfmon data, service states
and process information published by Windows operating systems
provide the "Core" metrics for proactive management, hence the
name. TNT Software has also combined the most useful
features for monitoring network devices such as firewalls,
switches, hubs, routers and other network devices into a
lightweight, efficient new Network license.
Notification
Methods
Notification Methods are now based on Event Views to streamline
and simplify setting up Notifications. The basic premise is "What
You See is What You Get". Each Event View has the option of
assigning a Notification Method directly to it. Any events being
displayed in that Event View (based on the Filter criteria) will
generate a notification.
Agent Categories in
Filters
In ELM 6.5 all Event Filters now include the ability to include
one or more Agent Categories. ELM's powerful Event Filters are
global in nature and can be used for Monitor Items, Event Views, as
well as Notification Methods. In addition, any custom Agent
Categories that have been created will also be automatically added
to the list of available selections from within the Event Filter
settings.
PowerShell
Support
Microsoft PowerShell support has been added to ELM's Command
Script Notification. PowerShell provides full access to COM and
WMI, enabling administrators to perform administrative tasks on
both local and remote Windows systems.
Event Views, Wizards and
Dialogs
ELM Enterprise Manager has been reviewed from the top to the
bottom, from Monitoring to Reporting, in an effort to streamline,
standardize, and consolidate menus, features, and shortcuts. This
effort has led to some older features being removed, unused
features being disabled, new menu items and shortcuts being
created, and other features being easier to find.
